Economic Development: Tesla Powered Smart Homes

Updated: Dec 9, 2022

In 2020, we received word from an interested developer who wanted to break ground on a smart home factory in the #City of #Hemet. As part of our aggressive #economic #development strategy, we would routinely field calls and coordinate discussions with developers within 24 hours of receiving an inquiry.

This was one of them and we were excited.

The group was interested in developing and fabricating pre built modular homes on approximately 32 acres, and bringing in over 100 jobs; jobs that the community would undoubtedly benefit from.

The entire facility would be completely solar with its own battery storage system and Tesla powered trucks for delivery. The site would have their modular homes on display which would allow for interested individuals to witness first hand the unique concept.

As part of our aggressive strategy, we ensured constant communication, timely updates, and provided them with all the information they needed to move their project forward.

When asked why CEO John Rowland decided on the community of Hemet, he said the following:

"Our leadership team selected Hemet and Patterson due to the warm welcome each of the cities provided S2A from the very first day of engagement," Rowland says. "Other areas/regions that we approached did not reflect the same amount of enthusiasm or interest. The planning, engineering and building departments in Hemet have been amazing to work with — and are big supporters of S2A and our 'GreenLux' vision for the United States and the globe."

That type of feedback is a testament to employee leadership and a growth mindset, and the incredible environment created when we strive for more.
